Day 20 – Progesterone Level Blood Work

Tuesday, June 5, 2012

I went to RMA in Austin this morning to get blood work done.  This was to check the progesterone levels in my system.  The blood work will tell us if I am getting enough progesterone.

Since Pete has school tonight I had asked the nurse if she could give me my progesterone shot.  She had no problem with that and it was really easy.  She said not to ice the area before hand because it makes it harder for the body to absorb.  In addition she plunged in the oil rather quickly.  Before I knew it she was done.  Her tips were to hold the base of the needle and have Pete push in the medicine with his thumb.  The thumb is stronger and can have more pressure to push in the oil.  She also said giving the shot in the morning is better because I have more movement during the day, which will make the oil spread throughout my system better.

We will move to giving the shots in the morning and try the techniques she did today for IM shot.  I received a voice mail this afternoon and I am getting enough progesterone.  So I will keep on the 1ml dose.
